This lamp was likely made in the 1960s but has been in manufacture for decades.
Condition Before Treatment
Evidence of rust and corrosion to the metals, the glass was shattered. There is significant evidence of soiling to the object, some of which were from its use as a lamp. Some which accumulated through storage.
Treatment
1.Dismantle the lamp to allow access for cleaning.
2. cleaning- Swab cleaning of the object. Water and white spirit mix to remove the soiling to the surface.

3. Re-naissance de-corroder to remove the rust to the metal.
4. Replace the glass- the original glass was broken, to make the object visually complete, replacement glass was sourced.
This treatment is ongoing and will be updated once completed.
Reflection By The Conservator
This object has taught me not to take a task lightly as objects are more complicated than first believed. I like working with new metals and this object has given me the opportunity to learn more about it.
